Exercise
There are terrific fitness centers at both the Flamingo Resort
and at the Sonoma Mission Inn. The Flamingo Resort has
access to the
20,000sf gym at the Montecito
Heights Health and Racquet Club which
is on the grounds of the Flamingo Hotel. The access fee is $12/day
for guests of the hotel. Hours: Monday - Thursday 5:30am-10:00pm,
Friday 5:30am-9:00pm, Sat & Sun 8:00am-7:00 pm
There are even Masters Swimming workouts at the Flamingo Resort.
The Sonoma
Mission Inn fitness center is open every day from 6:00am – 9:00pm.
Golf
Allison’s parents, David & Vicki Stollmeyer, are members
of a gorgeous private club, Sonoma Golf Club, that has just hosted
the PGA Seniors Championship. Greens fees are $145/person, but we’re
told are well worth it! Please email or call David directly (707)
939-9229 to arrange for a tee time (other than with the group on
Friday morning).

Running Trails
There are two wonderful running trails that Allison recommends and
yes, they also make good walking trails!
If you are staying at
the Flamingo, the closest trail is Annadel
State Park. Trail maps can be found
on the park’s website.
Elevations in the park vary from 360 to around 1,880 feet, but most
of the trails are moderate in grade.
Annadel State Park

Santa Rosa, California, 95409

If you are staying in
Sonoma or Glen Ellen (Sonoma Mission Inn or Gaige House) the
closest trails and a place worth visiting no matter
where you’re staying, is the Jack
London State Park. The park
is actually in David and Vicki Stollmeyer’s back yard (though
it is best to enter through the public entrance if you’re on
your own) and has miles of beautiful trails among the vineyards and
historical buildings. Be sure to visit the old winery ruins (which
will be the location of our pre-wedding photos) and the Wolf House.
Park hours are 10am-7pm, though you can run in the park earlier than
10am.

Spa & Mudbaths
For those who would like to really unwind, there are two spas that
we would recommend, as well as the mud baths (for singles or couples)
in Calistoga.
The
Spa at the Flamingo Resort is affiliated with the adjacent Montecito
Heights Club and offers massage, facials, manicures, pedicures and
great spa packages.
The
Spa at the Sonoma Mission Inn offers everything spa related that
you could ever want.
Calistoga Mud baths
Although Calistoga is an hour drive, if you’ve never
been to a mud bath, it is worth it!
Golden
Haven – one
of the more affordable options which also has mud baths for couples!
1713 Lake Street
Calistoga, CA 94515

Here are some other
suggestions for mud
baths, massage, spas and body treatments in Calistoga.
Tennis
The Flamingo Resort has tennis facilities. At the Flamingo, the Montecito
Heights Health and Racquet Club is right next door and is free for
use to hotel guests.
WINE TASTING
For those of you not familiar with the area, there are two primary
areas for wine tasting which run parallel to each other, but are
separated by a row of mountains (and a 30 minute windy drive), the
Sonoma Valley and the Napa Valley. We will be providing you with
a copy of a comprehensive winery map upon your arrival, should you
choose to explore on your own.
Should you prefer to wine taste on your own, or visit some additional
wineries, we have provided you with our list of winery recommendations.
Note that most wineries are open daily from 10am-5pm.
