We appreciate that many of our friends
and family are coming long distances to be with us, and hope that the
following information on travel, accommodations, restaurants and local
attractions proves helpful. Please don't hesitate to contact
us with
questions should you require any assistance.
Our wedding and reception will be held at the St. Francis Winery in
Kenwood, California. Kenwood is in the Sonoma Valley, just north of
the town of Sonoma. There are two Bay Area airports which are equally
close to Kenwood, San Francisco International airport and Oakland airport.
The Sonoma Valley is approximately one to two hours from either airport
(depending on traffic) and the best way to both get to the Sonoma Valley
and to explore is by car.
We have many activities planned throughout the weekend and recommend
that you plan to arrive on Thursday. In addition, please be aware that
traffic is heaviest in the Sonoma Valley direction from either airport
from 3pm-7pm on weekdays so do your best to plan accordingly.
We have selected the Flamingo
Resort Hotel in Santa Rosa as the primary
hotel for the wedding party, as well as for our guests. It is a newly
redone, 50’s retro style hotel seven miles north of the wedding
reception location. The Flamingo has nice spacious rooms rooms, a huge
outdoor pool and spa, fitness facility, restaurant, bar and nightclub.
We have rooms blocked at a rate of $129/night. Please call as soon
as possible to ensure a room, as this hotel will sell out at this time
of year (though they are supposed to guarantee a room for our group
if you call before May 19, 2004). While there is a two night minimum
at the Flamingo, if you require only a one night stay, please give
us a call and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
